Asheville YWCA
Tupelo Honey Cafe began a sponsorship of the children's garden at the downtown YWCA in Asheville in the spring of 2010. The garden was completely renovated in one day by a team of Tupelo Honey volunteers, and plants were provided by Tupelo Honey and BB Barns. The renovation and continued maintenance of the space allowed kids in summer and afterschool programs to participate in garden-based curricula including science, arts & crafts, and cooking classes carried out by Tupelo Honey chefs.
The project was managed by Yellow Rosita, including curriculum development and on-going garden support.
