Gardens
I have always loved plants, animals, and being outdoors, and I have two agriculturally-related MS degrees from the University of California at Davis. The first is in International Agricultural Development, and the second is in Community and Regional Development (not necessarily an ag degree, but I focused on food policy and community food security).
I also love working with kids, and have done work in garden and farm-based experiential education programs across the country, including the Center for Land-Based Learning and the Agricultural Sustainability Institute in California, the YWCA in Asheville, NC, and the Children's Discovery Center in Topeka, KS.
I also occasionally do ornamental and container landscaping. I base my landscaping work on permaculture principles using natives, edibles, and medicinal plants.
